Jennifer Morrison to Appear on the New York Stage

The End of Longing, Jennifer MorrisonJennifer Morrison will be spending her hiatus off-Broadway this year, starring in The End of Longing, according to MCC Theater. The new play was written by Matthew Perry and will mark both his Broadway playwriting and acting debut, as he will co-star in the play.

The End of Longing, directed by Lindsay Posner, will be opening in New York following its hit run at London’s Playhouse Theatre last year. Performances in New York begin on May 18, 2017, ahead of a June 5 opening night at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

MCC Theater describes the play as ,”An alcoholic, an escort, a self-diagnosed neurotic and a well-intentioned dimwit walk into a bar… Broken and deeply flawed, they find their lives irreversibly entwined no matter how hard they try to break free of one another. The End of Longing is a bittersweet comedy that proves that broken people don’t need to stay broken.”

Eduardo Castro Talks Designing the Costumes of Once Upon a Time

Castro, the winner of a Costume Designers Guild Award, talked about a range of topics, from the pilot to what to expect for the rest of the season.

Music In the Dark: Red has been very present throughout the show, with Emma in the red dress in the opening shot of the pilot, and then the red leather jacket, and Charming’s red leather. What made you choose to use that color as the sort of signature color? Continue reading

This is the episode where Emma and Hook meet for the first time. Their first few meetings consist of fighting, and in this episode, Emma ties Hook to a tree and holds a knife to his throat. It also marks the beginning of Regina’s descent into black magic, when she gives in to Rumplestiltskin’s teaching and crushes the heart of his new student.

We also see her desperation in trying to bring Daniel back to life, which is what sets her on the path to darkness to start with.

The pilot starts with a great opening, showing Emma Swan as very capable of taking care of herself, walking to ‘Howlin’ For You’ by the Black Keys. She is also established as a loner, epitomized with her solitary birthday celebration. The episode also establishes all the characters, both in Storybrooke as well as in the Enchanted Forest. The episode ends with the great shot of Henry watching the clock tower as time starts to move again.

We also see some of the cinematography that we can expect, including the shot of Emma’s eye opening, a recreation of a similar shot from Lost.
