Sam and Dean stop at a hotel because of a bad storm. The hotel is much fancier than they are used to, and Sam questions why a four-star hotel would be located in the middle of nowhere. The building starts shaking and the couple in the next room disappear, only the woman’s engagement ring left on the floor.
When they arrive at the hotel, first Dean, and later Sam, have small cuts on their necks.
As they think about things, they realize that they were led to the hotel by a detour and a hurricane. They then find bloody soup with eyeballs, and some guys show up. Sam and Dean are taken into the lobby where they realize that everyone in the room is a god.
Kali, the destroyer, announces at the convention that they have to fight. She says the only thing archangels understand is violence and it’s the gods or the angels. As the gods are arguing, Gabriel walks in. He teleports the brothers back to their room.
Gabriel’s plan is to destroy the blood spells Kali has on them by taking the blood, but she knows what he’s doing and gets the better of him, bringing Gabriel and the brothers back to the god conference. Kali takes Gabriel’s blade and seems to kill him. Dean then tells them he’ll help them kill Lucifer. He goes out to his car to find Gabriel in the backseat. The blade Kali had was a fake.
Dean tells Kali that Gabriel is still alive and tricked her. Meanwhile, Lucifer is at the front desk. He kills all the gods except Kali. Gabriel shows up and saves them. He gives Dean a porn movie and tells him to guard it with his life. Sam and Dean drive off with Kali, and Gabriel and Lucifer have a family chat. Gabriel reveals he’s actually on the side of the humans, not Lucifer’s and not the angels.
It turns out the porn movie is a video that Gabriel made for the brothers that gives them a plan to trap Lucifer. They need all four rings from the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The rings then open the cage he had been trapped in so they can put him back. They already have Famine and War, so they need Pestilence and Death.
It isn’t so much character development, but it’s funny how famous Sam and Dean are with demons, angels, and now apparently, gods.
Dean reacts to Gabriel saying he can’t kill his brother by asking, “Can’t or won’t?” It’s interesting because in the same situation, Dean couldn’t kill Sam, but he’s judging Gabriel for it.
Gabriel tries to kill Lucifer, but Lucifer gets the better of him and kills Gabriel.
