Fox has officially ordered the revival of Prison Break to series after ordering a pilot script five months ago, according to TVLine.
Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who played Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, the brothers who stated off the series, have both signed on to return. Talks are currently in progress with Sarah Wayne Callies and Robert Knepper, to reprise their roles as Sara Tancredo and T-Bag, respectively.
The series is expected to film this spring, with a nine-episode run most likely.
“The story unravels on an international landscape — it’s not a domestic [plot],” Dana Walden, the co-chariman/CEO of FOX, said. “We open on a very international contemporary-feeling story.”
The Fox drama’s original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead, will executive-produce the new series, with Scheuring serving as showrunner.
Currently, Miller and Purcell star together on the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow and Callies stars on Colony.
