Sam and Dean are investigating a haunting in a book store when the clerk asks them if they are LARPing and shows them a book series called Supernatural, about Sam and Dean Winchester. The first book is about a Woman In White.
Dean face upon learning about slash fans.
Dean orders a tofu veggie burger. The brothers then fight without actually fighting to try to remain off the “Lilith Path.”
In the last scene, Chuck is having a very unpleasant dream. He wakes up and Zachariah is staring at him, and asks him if he saw it. Chuck did see it and wants to warn Sam and Dean but Zachariah won’t let him. Chuck decides to kill himself and Zachariah says they would just bring him back to life.
Notable Plot Moments:
Sam and Dean go to the publisher’s office to find out who Carver Edlund really is. They have to prove they’re real fans by answering a bunch of questions about themselves, and then Sam shows her his chest tattoo. Dean, very reluctantly, also shows his.
After meeting Chuck, Sam and Dean see his new pages, which say Lilith will show up. Dean’s plan is to just get out of town, but the bridge is closed so they are stuck.
As Dean is implementing opposite day, he checks them into the Troubedour Motel because the book said they stay at the Red Motel. However, as Dean is pulling out of the parking lot, the lights in the Troubadour sign go out, so they are still staying in the Red Motel, showing they can run, but prior knowledge doesn’t change what’s set to happen. Maybe the fact that they know what will happen determines the decisions they made when Chuck was writing, leading them to the same spot they’re running from…
As soon as Dean parks the Impala, some kids start trying to break in. He goes towards them and gets hit by a van, which knocks him unconscious. When he regains consciousness, he finds all of Chuck’s predictions are still coming true despite his efforts to change them. When Chuck returns to his house, he finds Dean waiting for him, angry. Dean is demanding to know how Chuck knows what he knows when Castiel shows up and tells Dean that Chuck is a prophet.
Lilith shows up and tells Sam that she’s offering to stand down and stop breaking seals. Of course, it involves a deal. Sam ends up agreeing, which is how the original story line had him and Lilith sleeping together. However, this time, Sam goes for the knife, but Lilith gets the upper hand. Just then, Dean and Chuck burst in and Lilith has to leave before the archangel shows up to kill her.
Chuck shows up to talk to Sam. Apparently, Sam called him to find out if he knows about the demon blood, since he didn’t say anything to Dean. Chuck is surprisingly sympathetic to Sam and his demon blood addiction. We also learn that Sam feels that he needs to watch out for Dean, and has basically put the responsibility of the world on his own shoulders. You can certainly tell that Sam and Dean are brothers.
Dean reveals to Sam that he knows what’s been going with Sam and his psychic abilities. They have an argument, the same argument that they’ve been having all season, about whether Sam should use his powers, and whether he is likely to succumb to the dark side.
Cas kicks ass! Dean tells him he needs help, and Castiel tells Dean he can’t interfere, but it’s one of those “wink, nudge” moments, as Castiel explains why he can’t interfere, basically giving Dean directions on how to defeat Lilith.
After Dean stops Sam, they talk about it in the car and he and Dean are still butting heads on the whole working with demons thing, with sam lying to say that the deal with Lilith wouldn’t have worked out.
The diner they eat in is called Kripke’s Hollow.
