Benedict Cumberbatch Begins Rehearsals For ‘Hamlet’

Benedict Cumberbatch, HamletBenedict Cumberbatch has begun rehearsals for Hamlet and the production has released the first official pictures of the rehearsals. The play opens in August at the Barbican Theatre for a 12 week run.

Tickets for the performances sold out, but there are alternative ways to see the play. For those in the London area, the show’s creators, Sonia Friedman Productions, in a partnership with Sky Arts, has allocated 100 tickets at £10 for every public performance of the production. Those tickets will add up to 8,500 throughout the run of the play.

In October, there will be live screenings of the play in partnership with National Theatre Live. They have previously broadcast Coriolanus, with Tom Hiddleston in the title role.
