Prison Break is the latest show getting a limited run revival at FOX. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who played brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows will both be returning, though in what capacity is still unclear.
Fans may remember that [SPOILER ALERT] the series ended with Michael’s death. Now, he died off screen, so they could always write something to bring him back, though Miller has suggested an idea of his own in a conversation with E! News. “To go back and do something like we did at the end of season four, where there were those two standalone episodes were Sarah was in trouble. It was like a hidden chapter. We didn’t know this, but we’re going to share this with you, wouldn’t it be cool to go back and layer one of those things in. Like another standalone chapter, this is what you didn’t see before,” Miller said. “Or a where are they now, it’s five years later, limited series kind of thing. I think that’d be really cool.” (Again, unless they are somehow reviving Michael, where he is five years later is still dead…)
Miller and Purcell have already re-teamed since Prison Break, guest starring on The Flash as villains Captain Cold (Miller) and Heatwave (Purcell). The characters will both be brought over to the new Flash spin-off DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will also air on the CW.
Both actors previously spoke to E! News about the possibility of a revival. “We actually floated the idea to Fox very casually and they seemed very not casual about this interest,” Miller said. “They seemed to think there was something there.”
“It’s something that Fox is, as Wentworth said, potentially excited about,” Purcell said.
“Maybe definitely excited about,” Miller told E!. “Maybe definitely.”
E! News has reported confirmation from an unnamed source, though no official announcements have been made by the network or any of the actors or their representation.
