Chuck Versus the Cubic Z

The episode opens with a prison transfer vehicle driving along the highway. They get redirected to a new secure facility…

Important Moments/Plot Summary:
Sarah Walker, Yvonne Strahovski, Chuck
Sarah is freaking out about Chuck’s offhand comment about kids, and is relieved when their mission to Saint Tropez is canceled. But then, the transferred prisoners arrive…

The prisoners are Hugo Panzer, the man Chuck fought on the airplane mission to Paris, and Heather Chandler, Sarah’s old high school rival.

Big Mike asks Morgan for his permission to propose to his mother. He asks Morgan to hold onto the engagement ring for safekeeping until Morgan thinks Big Mike is worthy of his mother.

Sarah tells Chuck they need to talk. As they are starting to have a conversation, Chuck flashes on Heather, and finds out that she has a connection to Frost. Chuck wants to interrogate her before the transport arrives to find out if she has any information on Chuck’s mother.

Sarah and Chuck go in to interrogate her. Sarah says they should go in as good cop, silent cop. Heather will only talk if she can go into Witness Protection. During the interrogation, Heather realizes that Chuck and Sarah are dating.

A guard goes into Panzer’s cell, and Panzer is able to overpower him and escape.

Chuck is confused at to why the topic of their relationship is such a hot button for Sarah.

Heather tells them that she got a transfer to Yucca out of the blue. When she got in the transfer vehicle, Panzer was there. Sarah surmises that Volkoff arranged the transfer.

Panzer is on the computer, trying to get the cell Chuck, Sarah, and Heather are hiding in open. Casey is able to override the system and open an escape door in the cell before Panzer gets it open, allowing Chuck, Sarah, and Heather to escape into the ceiling vents. Panzer crawls up after them.

After getting out of the ceiling vents, Heather goes on about how Sarah can’t have a real relationship and all the stuff she was saying before to make Sarah upset. Chuck gets a lot of credit for not having a reaction and not appearing to believe her over Sarah.
Zachary Levi, Chuck Bartowski, Nicole Richie
Heather tells them that she met Frost on a mission called Operation Beacon. She says Frost was always around Volkoff.

Coolest Action Sequences/Chuck Accidentally Saves the Day:

While Chuck is asking Sarah what the problem is, she’s sees a guard go down and they run as Panzer comes around the corner and picks up the guards gun and starts firing at them. The only place that is safe is the cage, where there is bulletproof glass so they run in with Heather. Panzer says if they let Heather out, he won’t kill anyone else.

Greta calls Casey but Panzer has already knocked out a couple of guards. She tries to take him, but he knocks her out.

As they are waiting for Casey to open a door, it opens, but it’s Panzer, not Casey. Panzer punches Chuck in the face and then Sarah knocks him down the vent, but he grabs Chuck and pulls him too. Sarah catches Chuck’s ankle, but when she asks Heather for help, Heather leaves, saying Sarah would do the same to her. That pisses Sarah off, and she starts fighting with Heather. Chuck flashes and is eventually able to shake Panzer off. Sarah then pulls Chuck up, who is hanging from the vent by his ankles.

Casey catches Panzer and they are all brought to the roof for the helicopter transport that will take Heather and Panzer to their new prison. Panzer is smiling widely, and Casey realizes the men in the helicopter aren’t CIA. They work for Volkoff. A gunfight breaks out and Panzer escapes. Casey hands him a gun and sends him after Panzer. Casey gets shot in the leg and Volkoff’s men say they will leave if they get Chandler. Heather tells Sarah to just hand her over. Sarah surprises her by handing her Casey’s gun. Then, together, they stand up and fire back, taking out Volkoff’s men. Then they turn to face each other, guns still drawn. Heather fires, but it turns out that there was another one of Volkoff’s men behind Sarah and Heather shoots him.

The vent that Chuck and Panzer are in falls, with them landing in the cage in the Buy More. They both climb out and start fighting. It ends with Panzer kind of crushing Chuck and locking him in the cage. Panzer than walks into the middle of a video game riot in the Buy More, where Big Mike takes him out with a Taser.

Best Moments:

Sarah and Heather kicking Volkoff’s men’s ass.

Funniest/Most Awkward Moments:
Zachary Levi, Chuck Bartowski, Yvonne Strahovski, Sarah Walker
When Sarah interrogates Heather, it’s clear that Heather’s comments are getting under Sarah’s skin. The comments are hitting home so much that she takes Chuck out into the hall to berate him for letting Heather get under his skin. Transference much?

Casey and the voice activated security system. We have all been there. That is all.

Sarah kicks Heather in the head. “Sorry, foot slipped.”
Zachary Levi, Chuck Bartowski, Yvonne Strahovski, Sarah Walker
Big Mike’s ring falls through the vents, leading to a really awkward moment when Chuck picks it up. I’m not sure if it was meant to be silly and cheesy or symbolic of the future.

Notable Guests Stars:

Stacy Kiebler guest stars as the new Greta.
Nicole Richie, Chuck
Nicole Richie is back as Heather Chandler.

Steve Austin is back as Hugo Panzer.

“Sarah Walker, and don’t forget it.” – Sarah

“Well, we don’t have the authority to use the supply closet for what it is we use it for, but we use it anyway, don’t we!” – Chuck

“Do not let her get under your skin!” – Sarah

“This might be about me. I kicked his ass on an airplane once.” – Chuck
