Buffy Reunion

Emma Caulfield, Nicholas Brendan, BuffyThis weekend, Emma Caulfield and Nicholas Brendan, known to Buffy fans as Anya and Xander, had a mini Buffy reunion at a fan convention in Australia. However, theirs is far from the first of recent Buffy reunions. During the convention, the pair did an interview with the Brisbane Times.

Sarah Michelle Gellar spoke about her relationship with some fellow Buffy castmates during a Q&A on Reddit. Of her relationship with Seth Green and Michelle Trachtenberg, who played Oz and Dawn, respectively, she said, “We do [keep in touch]. I mean, you have to understand that Seth and I have been friends since we were seven years old. Well, he’s older, so he was like nine. Yeah, that’s right, Seth. I said it – you’re older. I’ve known Michelle Trachtenberg since she was probably like five.”

Gellar has posted pictures of visits from her former castmates, including the one of her and Green. She has also posted pictures with Caulfield, Trachtenberg, Boreanaz, Anthony Stewart Head, who played Giles, and Tom Lenk, who played Andrew.

She also spoke about her relationship with David Boreanaz, who played Angel, saying, “David and I will always have a connection and we will always stay friends. Not to mention the fact that his show had way better catering than mine. I’m very often motivated by food. A lot of times David will text me when there’s some good food over there and I’ll come and visit. Mainly to get food.”

Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia, and Eliza Dushku, who played Faith, also posted a picture recently.

For any fans that haven’t been following the cast members careers:

Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) was just on The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams.

Alyson Hannigan (Willow) has just wrapped up her series How I Met Your Mother
. She is currently working on a TV movie called More Time With Family. She also appeared on Veronica Mars.

Nicholas Brendan (Xander) has had roles on Private Practice and Criminal Minds.

Anthony Stewart Head (Giles) has done quite a lot of TV in Britain, including the shows Free Agents, Sold and The Invisibles, as well as Merlin and can currently be seen on the show Dominions.

James Marsters (Spike) has appeared on many shows and films, including Smallville, Without a Trace, Caprica, Hawaii Five-O and Supernatural. He is currently appearing on Witches of East End. (Spoiler Alert: He still plays a bad guy a lot).

Emma Caulfield (Anya) had a YouTube series called Bandwagon. She appeared in the series Life Unexpected, as well as episodes of Private Practice, Once Upon a Time and Royal Pains.

Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn) has appeared on Six Feet Under, Mercy, Weeds, and most notably, on Gossip Girl. She also portrayed Marina Oswald in Killing Kennedy.

David Boreanaz (Angel) had his own spin-off show, Angel. He has since starred on Bones, which is about to begin its tenth season.

Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia) was on Angel with Boreanaz before moving on to Veronica Mars, though she never shared scenes with Hannigan. Since then, Carpenter has appeared on Greek and The Lying Game, among numerous other appearances.

Kristine Sutherland (Joyce Summers) has appeared on the soap opera One Life to Live and The Following.

Amber Benson (Tara) has also appeared on Private Practice, as well as numerous other shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural and Ringer, a series that starred Gellar and ran for one season.

Seth Green (Oz) moved on from Buffy to do a huge list of things, so many that it’s better to check IMDb if you want all the details. Among his projects are a remake of The Italian Job, the cartoon Robot Chicken, a recurring appearance on Entourage as a spoof of himself, an appearance on How I Met Your Mother with Hannigan, and most recently, the sitcom Dads.

Danny Strong (Jonathan) has perhaps the most surprising post-Buffy career, with, in addition to a role on Gilmore Girls and as yet another Buffy alum to appear on How I Met Your Mother as well as roles on Mad Men and Justified, Strong has established himself as a talented screenwriter, writing films and television shows and receiving numerous awards. His writing credits include Game Change, Lee Daniels’ The Butler and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 & 2.

Tom Lenk (Andrew) made appearances on Angel. He also had roles on Bandwagon, How I Met Your Mother, House M.D. and The Guild, a web series created by another Buffy alum, Felicia Day (she played one of the potentials). Lenk also continued working with Joss Whedon with roles in The Cabin In the Woods and Much Ado About Nothing. He is currently appearing on Witches of East End, though as of yet has not shared any scenes with Spike James Marsters.

Eliza Dushku (Faith) went on to appear on the television shows Tru Calling, Dollhouse (with Whedon), White Collar and The Guild, among others.

Alexis Denisof (Wesley) left Buffy to star on Angel with Boreanaz. His work with Whedon has continued, with Denisof appearing in Dollhouse, The Avengers and Much Ado About Nothing. He also appeared on How I Met Your Mother with Hannigan, who he married in real life. He is currently appearing on Grimm and Finding Carter as well as the film Guardians of the Galaxy.

Bianca Lawson (Kendra) has been on almost every show there is since her time on Buffy. Among them are Dawson’s Creek, Bones with Boreanaz, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, American Horror Story, Pretty Little Liars, Beauty and the Beast, 2 Broke Girls, Vampire Diaries, where she plays a witch and Witches of East End, where she is currently appearing, again playing a witch. As of yet, she has not had any scenes with either Lenk or Marsters, though she never had scenes with Lenk on Buffy, either.

I will always have a fond place in my heart for the beautiful, well excuted, fun, scary and enjoyable series it was. The only thing I was saddened about was that like all good things it ended. I love all of the cast, and I still follow this lives sometimes. I’m glad to see that their all doing well 🙂

Buffy reunion. My thoughts? Oh I think absolutely! It would be great to see everyone come together and see what everyone’s doing with themselves. Also seeing them now would be interesting, so many years have past its time we catch up with our beautiful cast 🙂
