Jared Padalecki Launches Tee to Support Orlando Victims

Jared Padalecki, I Am Enough, Always Keep FightingThe new tee, part of the “I Am Enough” campaign, launched at Represent.com/Jared with a line of apparel that includes tees, tanks and hoodies emblazoned with the logo “I Am Enough. Love Yourself First” in rainbow- or solid-colored lettering.

The campaign was developed as a fundraiser to benefit OneOrlando and the official Pulse Victims’ Fund Page for Equality Florida — a GoFundMe project that has raised nearly $6 million in eight days for the shooting victims and their families. The ‘I Am Enough’ campaign will donate $1 for every shirt sold.

“In light of all the tragic events that have happened lately … we are coming out with our most recent … variation of the Always Keep Fighting campaign,” Padalecki said on Facebook. “It’s been meaningful to me, and I hope it will be meaningful to you.”

“I know sometimes you feel like you can’t fight, and I know sometimes you feel like you can’t love yourself,” Padalecki said. “And when that happens, I want you to remember that you’re enough.”

Jared Padalecki plays Sam Winchester on Supernatural and began the Always Keep Fighting Campaign.

Supernatural – Season 4 – Episode 20

The Rapture

Important Moments:

Sam is starting to show signs of addiction to demon blood, and is also demonstrating a reliance on it when he fights, which doesn’t work out so well.

Near the end of the fight with the demons that kidnapped Jimmy’s family, Sam has a knife and a demon, and he drinks a little blood from the neck of the demon to be able to use his powers. However, when he looks up, Dean and Castiel and just looking at him. Talk about looks of disappointment. Also, mixed with a little WTF?

Jimmy is dying, and Castiel will be possessing Claire instead. Castiel tells him to take him back and let Claire go, to which Castiel agrees. As Castiel is leaving, Dean asks him what he was going to tell him, and Castiel says that he learned his lesson, that he serves heaven, not man, and certainly not Dean. Continue reading

Supernatural Rewatch Recap – Season 4 – Episode 6 – Yellow Fever

Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, SupernaturalSupernatural – Season 4 – Episode 6

Yellow Fever

Plot Summary:

The episode opens with a funny scene that shows Dean is far from over the psychological trauma of going to Hell.
Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, Supernatural
Sam and Dean are in Colorado to investigate the deaths of people that should have been perfectly healthy dropping dead of seemingly natural causes. They ask the coroner to do an autopsy of a man that died of a heart attack. However, when the doctor opens him up, he finds that the man’s heart doesn’t have any blockages and looks healthy.

They talk to the Sheriff about the death of Frank, the man with the heart attack, and find that Frank was frightened of something before he died.
Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, Supernatural
As they are discussing the case, Dean shows his first sign of being jittery when he avoids teenagers that are just standing there, doing nothing. Then, when they are interviewing Mark Hutchence, Frank’s neighbor, Dean seems overly freaked out by the animals in the house, and not just the snake and spider, but also the frogs. Dean then freaks out when Sam opens the car door. As they are driving, even Dean realizes he’s acting weird, and then the EMF scanner goes off. Dean is causing it.
Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, Supernatural
Dean wakes up with the same marks on his arm as the other dead people. Sam talks to Bobby and they figured out that Dean has ghost sickness. They figure out that to stop the ghost sickness, they have to kill the ghost that started it.
Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, Supernatural
Dean starts having hallucinations and then coughs up a wood chip. The brothers go to an old abandoned lumber mill and find a wedding ring that turns out to belong to Frank, the dead guy from the first scene. Dean then finds a painting of Frank’s dead wife. When he picks it up, it turns on the saws, which freaks Dean out. Then Dean sees a man behind Sam. At the look on Dean’s face, Sam turns around. It is, unsurprisingly, a ghost. It comes after Sam, who shoots it. Dean, meanwhile, has already gone running from the lumber mill to the car, where he is downing bourbon.
Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, Supernatural
The brothers go to the Sheriff’s station and get the file for Luther Garlands, the ID Sam found at the lumber mill and presumably the ghost. After they leave, the camera cuts to the sheriff, frantically rubbing at his wrist. He also has ghost sickness.

The brothers go to visit Garland’s brother, who is living in an institution. He tells the Winchesters that Frank killed Luther Garlands after his wife, Jessie, went missing. He also tells the brothers that he used to hate Frank, but he doesn’t anymore because he just did it out of fear, which “spreads and spreads.”

Dean realizes that the scratches he has are road rash. Dean is experiencing Luther’s death in slow motion. Dean then proceeds to have an epic freakout.

Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, Supernatural
Bobby shows up to help Sam, while Dean is “home sick”. Dean is having hallucinations while Sam and Bobby try to scare the ghost to death, so to speak.
Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, Supernatural
The Sheriff shows up at the hotel room, freaking out with hallucinations of his own, and then dies right on the floor in front of Dean. Dean continues freaking out as Lilith shows up and tells him he’s going back to hell.

Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, Jim Beaver, Bobby Singer, Supernatural
Meanwhile, Sam and Bobby are enacting Sam’s plan, which is to get the chain around the ghost’s neck and for Bobby to drive as fast as he can, putting the ghost through his own death again, scaring him, and it works.

Story & Character Analysis:
Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, Supernatural
This episode plays for laughs much more than usual, and that means a little less character development. However, there are still a few issues that arise.

Dean’s fears about Sam are personified in Dean’s hallucination of Sam as Yellow Eyes. This is emphasized at the end of the episode, when Dean is theoretically better and no longer infected by ghost sickness, and yet he briefly sees Sam’s eyes turn yellow.

Additionally, when Dean has a hallucination of Lilith at the end of the episode, she brings up his time in Hell, and it leaves the implication that Dean has a secret he isn’t telling Sam or Bobby.

Funny Moments:

The scary killer dog.

The scary killer dog.

Dean is running from a dog in terror. He passes a homeless man and warns him that the dog will kill him. Then the dog runs into the light and it’s a tiny cute dog with a bow on its head. Dean keeps running anyway, clearly still scared.

Jensen Ackles, Dean Winchester, Supernatural
Dean is basically comedic relief the entire episode. However, Dean’s ridiculous screaming at the cat in the locker is a highlight.

Supernatural Rewatch Recap – Season 2 – Episode 5 – Simon Said

Supernatural

Season 2 – Episode 5

This was a good episode that really forwarded some of the plot. It brings Ellen into the main story and creates an even freakier situation regarding any children born on Sam’s birthday that have been affected by the yellow eyed demon.

Simon Said
s2
This episode opens with a man walking down the street in what looks like every and any small town. He gets a phone call, then goes into a store, asks to look at a gun and then shoots.

Important Moments:

As the man is loading the gun, he is simultaneously telling the gun store clerk that he wouldn’t take up guns because they make him nervous. His actions are in complete opposition to his words and tone. He then shoots the store clerk and then shoots himself. The camera then cuts to Sam suddenly waking up. This all happened in his dream. A vision? He thinks so.

The brothers head to the Road House to get help locating the place where Sam’s vision is occurring from Ash. He matches the logo from Sam’s vision to Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Supernatural Rewatch Recap – Season 2 – Episode 4 – Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things

Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, SupernaturalSupernatural

Season 2 – Episode 4 – Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things

This episode delves into the theme of life and death and letting things go when it’s their time. Dean sees himself as not belonging and we learn he blames himself for their father’s death. This is echoed in the case of the week, about a zombie, a girl brought back to life by her friend who was in love with her.

The episode opens with a man trying to comfort a woman, Angela, who is suffering from a broken heart because her boyfriend cheated on her. Her ex-boyfriend, Matt, shows up at the door and he seems angry. She gets in the car and drives away. He calls her while she’s driving and they get into a fight. While they are fighting, Angela has a car accident and is killed.

Important Moments:
Dean Winchester
The brothers are at the cemetery, visiting their mother’s grave, apparently located in Illinois, which is explained away by saying their uncle had her buried there. While Sam is at the gravesite, Dean is wandering around the cemetery looking all kinds of uncomfortable. He sees a really gnarly (and gnarled) looking tree and realizes that the area he’s standing in has everything dead in it in a perfect circle around the grave of a woman named Angela Mason, the girl in the car accident in the teaser.

Supernatural Season 2

Episode 3 – Bloodlust

This episode is the first time that any moral issues come up in regard to supernatural beings.

Important Moments:

The episode opens in Montana, where a girl is running through the woods, clearly terrified. She stops and turns around when something with a sickle beheads her.

The brothers interview the police where the murders have been taking place and ask him if there is a connection between the cows being mutilated and the murders. The policeman laughs at them and says there is not such thing as cow mutilation.

The brothers go to the morgue to look at the severed heads and find a set of retractable vampire fangs in the woman’s head.

They go to a local bar and ask the bartender if there were any new people that moved to the area in the last six months, saying they would be rowdy and like to drink a lot. The bartender says a nearby farm was recently rented out and the camera pans to a man smoking a cigarette that seems to be paying close attention to Sam and Dean. The man then follows them out of the bar. Continue reading

Supernatural Rewatch Recap – Season 2 – Episode 2 – Everybody Loves a Clown

Dean Winchester, Jensen Ackles, Supernatural, Alona Tal, Jo Harvelle
Supernatural Season 2

Everybody Loves a Clown

This episode focuses on things that are unseen or unaddressed, epitomized by the clown that only children can see, while also acting as the theme as Dean refuses to acknowledge his feelings, good or bad, about the death of his father.

Important Moments:

A family with a little girl is at a carnival where there are clowns. While that is already a problem, the little girl keeps seeing a clown that her parents can’t see. After the carnival, she sees the clown again along the side of the road, and creepiest of all, he shows up at her back door after they get home. The little girl doesn’t have enough sense to be afraid of clowns, apparently not even clowns that show up at your back door in the middle of the night, and she lets him in.

The brothers are back at Bobby’s, where Dean is hard at work on his car. Sam asks Dean about their father. Apparently, Dean hasn’t mentioned anything in a week, so he is clearly internalizing, as Dean is wont to do. Continue reading
